Dr Kieran Lennon
MB ChB FRCA FFICM Dip IMC RCSEd
Kieran has more than 30 years experience in acute care medicine. He holds fellowships in anaesthetics and intensive care and a diploma in immediate medical care. He worked as a consultant in anaesthetics and intensive care in tertiary / quaternary teaching hospitals in the UK and New Zealand for 12 years. For the last 12 years he has worked as a consultant in intensive care in a metropolitan hospital in Western Australia.
Whilst working in the UK and New Zealand, Kieran's main interest was in the acute management of the multiply injured patient. He was a trauma team leader in the emergency department and a highly respected consultant in neuro and trauma intensive care, as well as general intensive care. He gained extensive experience in pre-hospital care and intra-and inter-hospital transfer medicine, including retrieval and aero-medical medicine.
In Australia, Kieran's main interest has been to improve the recognition and response to the acutely deteriorating patient. This has been through committee membership, policy shaping and education.
Kieran has a passion for education. He was a senior lecturer at Otago University in New Zealand and is an Adjunct Professor at The University of Notre Dame, Fremantle. He has instructed on numerous acute care courses including ALS 2, APLS, EMST, ATLS, PHTLS and PHPLS.
Kieran's other great passion is sport !!!
