Dr David Blythe

Dave is an experienced and highly qualified medical professional. Having qualified from Oxford University in the UK, Dave moved to Australia where he has spent the majority of his career, which includes over 30 years intensive care experience, including almost 25 years as an Intensive Care Consultant in Western Australia (WA).
Dave has extensive experience in management and senior leadership, including ten years as part of the Fremantle Hospital Executive during which time he held the position of Executive Director of Fremantle Hospital for five years.
Dave is a prominent and highly respected member of the medical profession within WA, previously serving on the board of the Australia and New Zealand Intensive Care Society and its research arm, the Clinical Trials Group, and was recently appointed as the State Director of DonateLife, the Western Australian organ donation agency.
Dave’s professional experience is complemented by Fellowships in both Medicine and Intensive Care Medicine, in addition to a Masters of Business Administration (MBA).
Dave’s experience in both clinical practice and leadership roles during which he was responsible for managing governance and accreditation issues, has directed his focus and passion towards the creation of robust clinical systems. He is especially interested in the delivery of relevant, accessible and contemporary education in relation to acute emergency management and patient care, tailored to individual environments and skillsets with a primary focus of ensuring that critical care expertise is made available to all.
